The Swan at The Globe - LONDON Bankside

The Globe London

The Swan at The Globe is steeped in glamour, history and style.

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a faithful reconstruction of the open- air playhouse first built in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and for which he wrote many of his greatest plays. Here, audiences experience the ‘wooden O’ sitting in the gallery or standing as a groundling, just as they would have done 400 years ago.

Swan is located on the site of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, just a stones throw away from London Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the City, Tate Modern and Borough Market, on the banks of the River Thames.
